Meet Kari, the 14 year old cake artist of Kari's Cakery, a Texas home cottage bakery that specializes in dairy-free and gluten-free baked goods. 

Kari has a dairy sensitivity, and several of her friends also have food allergies. Finding a cake or treat that one of them could eat was difficult, much less something safe and fun that they could all eat for events like birthday parties. As a result of this, she decided to explore baking and cake decorating so she could just make their desserts herself. She discovered she had a passion for sugar art along the way and started her own business at the age of 13 so that others that needed a cake for a special diet could enjoy as well.
